Spiritual Enlightment Question

Hi Jordan,

I have been doing a lot of reading in search of Spiritual Enlightenment, just as you suggested. Of course I have come across an abundance of information. I was wondering what you thought about Breathwork. I came across an article that talked about shining the light on/and embracing your shadow. To my understanding my shadow is my inner self that is hidden from my awareness. If this is correct, I definitely need to release these energies that are holding me back. The part of the article that spoke to me the most was regarding relationships. It was at this time that I felt that I was never truly loved in any of my romantic relationships. Then I instantly felt that I possibly subconsciously chose these partners, because my father was never in my life. I have never really felt the love of a father. I had a step-father, but he wasn't the loving, affectionate kind. He was a provider. My mothers father died when I was four, and I find myself holding on to those few memories of him very tightly.

I have also been meditating regularly, and I see a very bright white light during that time. I even opened my eyes a couple of times to see if there was a light shining from somewhere :-). That's a really good feeling, and I would like to keep my light shining all day long. I had even called the women in my family together to meet and strengthen our bonds, motivate, and inspire each other. Tears were shed as we learned about each others low self esteem, addictions, and goals. We will continue to meet monthly to help one another stay on track of goals, heal, vent, and whatever else is needed. That's why my healing is so important. I want to be able to help others, and utilize my intuition to identify their needs. There are so many people around me in pain. What are your thoughts on this?

Hello Jesia,

It is nice to hear from you and though counselling is  typically not focused on specific energy methods, such as Breathwork, an exception may be in order.

As the website will mention, energy exists all around us and the yin-yang of our existence creates a balance between negative and positive energy.  Each of us experience negative and positive energy not only within, but in our current environment.  When one evolves, opportunities to learn and grow in many places, and the purpose of spiritual growth is to continue to learn how to harness the power of the light - within, in order to strengthen the light and minimize the darkness.

Do you find that meditation and breathwork are enhancing your spirituality and the connection you feel with your soul?  Does it help you in challenging situations, whether these situations be internal or external?  It is wonderful to experience and learn new ways to connect to yourself and if it helps your spiritual evolution, why not continue exploring this new territory and see where it takes you!

It is wonderful to hear you and your close knit circle of woman are uniting and strengthening your bond!  That is terrific and a wonderful way of harnessing the light within all of your souls.  The website says over and over,  you only evolve from your relationships

It is no doubt difficult for a woman to not have a father in her life and creates unique challenges that females must overcome.  Though it is common for romantic relationships to be more challenging for woman who didn't have her father in her life, that by no means excludes you or any other woman raised by a single mother from experiencing the most amazing soul mate relationship.  In fact, it may prove the exact opposite.  Often, when one works to overcome a challenge felt internally, effort and awareness is emphasized and with that effort comes endless opportunities to harness the light and create the exact opposite of what is feared or believe to be impossible.

The past is the past and if you thought of each of your past relationships, is there one or two important lessons or self realizations that you gained?  What are the traits in each of those man that you admired?  What were the ones you just couldn't accept?  Reflection on certain aspects of your relationships may help you build the ideal soul mate for your future.  Of course, the most important part of finding a soul mate in any situation, is healing and preparing one's own soul.  Have you read the pages on How to Find a Soul mate?  You may find these three articles helpful to you in regards to relationships.

Your soul is bright and has endless possibilities.  Keep up the good work and you may just turn around one day and realize your spiritual enlightenment led to a growth that opened doors to a future at one time you never thought possible.  Be the light, attract the light and always remember the only limitations that exist for us in this lifetime are the ones we create for ourselves.

Love and Light,
